  he's forced in to this position due by a rigid organization that punishes strength, intelligence, and individuality.

  You display maturity well beyond your tender years, you have a wonderful personality and respect those to whom respect is due. You have become an individual unafraid to explore the unknown and accept the challenges thrown up in doing so.

  If we don't question and explore life - yes, maybe making mistakes along the way too - then we don't learn or grow. You, Ritchie are learning and growing.

  I'd like to thank your mum for raising a son who is such a blessing to so many people - even over long distances, and if you were my son, I'd be very proud of you just as your mum has every reason to be too.

  today many parents & family members of those poor children are remembering what happened in dunblane, scotland on march 13th 1996.

  16 children & their teacher killed.

  i have been accused many times lately for telling and believing lies.

  all i think i am doing is asking questions and letting my opinions be known.

  I see alot of people stating their opinions as facts, then when you question them how they come up with them they get upset. Why would they do that?

  Assuming the word 'upset' is here meaning annoyed/angry, most of the folks I've come accross who do this either: 1. Don't actually know themselves why they hold a particular POV so they can only react in a defensive manner - 'don't ask stupid questions, just believe it because I do!' 2. Have their heads stuck so far up their own butts that they think they are all-knowing and don't need presenting with any other POV - 'don't ask stupid questions. You must know I'm always right, just believe it because I do!' Even if their view is correct, they should still be able to give reasonable explanation as to why it is, otherwise you have no reason to believe them (unless they are really stating the obvious of course!) As a little aside:

  opinions forced down my throat as facts, telling me I was a evil sinner, doomed by my weakness to abide by all their stupid rules, and opinions about how I should live my life as a sacrifice to please God.

  That's got to be one of the closest descriptions of my RC upbringing I ever read on here

  Hello, I'm new here

  i left the jw's in 1990 and officially left or at least decided never to return again in 1993. i announced that i'd rather die in armageddon than live with these people.

  they don't want to speak to me much anymore.. but i'm concerned because i have a 4 yr old child and i don't want to attend any church.

  nothing against those who do.. but should i go for my child even though i will stare into outerspace until its over or is this a worse example than not attending at all?.

  What Are You Doing To Prepare For Retirement?

  i'm curious as to what some of you are doing to prepare for retirement.

  some people have 401k's, others buy real estate, some have many children in hopes that they will take care of them when they get old.

  so i'm wondering what some of you are doing now to prepare.

  I've got pension funds but at the rate the UK is increasing the retirement age I'm probably gonna be dead before I even get chance to retire

  i didn't go into work tonight.

  my allergies are kicking my butt.

  i snort like a pig; blow my nose, frequently; have post nasal drip; sneeze like a hyenna; have gunk in my eyes; and sleep poorly.

  I can sympathise too. I get hayfever and the only treatment that works for me is Piriton - which makes me veeerrry tired

  In the UK if you have severe problems, you can go to the docs and get a course of desensitization injections. Do they have a similar treatment available in the US that you could possibly try?

  i used to post in a forum much like this years ago.thought i would jump in this one.i have visited here several times and browsed your posts.i have enjoyed reading your posts and will be in here to read more and sometimes comment.looks like everyones said the usual jw stuff and my stories would be just more of what you all have been through or know of.it appears our histories are the same.now its time to make our own history.glad to be a part of this family in this forum.i really enjoy the great sense of humor many of you have.i have been laughing ever since i left the borg society.i tend to be satirical and i like to make people laugh.sometimes i can be damn right cold and mean but mostly to those that force their religious beliefs on others whether its crashing planes into buildings or 'placing ' magazines.they are all the same to me.simply- if it hurts it is wrong.thanks for allowing me this membership.hello to all my new brothers and sisters and i bet real love.
